STRIVE, a national leader in workforce development, empowers individuals 18+ with free career training and support, bridging the skills and opportunity gaps for life-changing success. Discover how VHSC and STRIVE work together to empower graduating seniors and strengthen our community.

Coach Matt Hulker brings a diverse background in playing and coaching experience to Vestavia Hills Soccer Club, where he has served as an Academy Coach since August 2023.

A Franklin Classical School graduate, Matt was a standout defender during his high school career, earning five varsity letters, starting for four years at center back, and receiving All-Tournament Team honors twice and All-State Team honors twice.

Matt holds a B.S. in Global Studies in Human Sciences/General Business with a minor from Auburn University, where he developed his skills in leadership and teamwork.

His coaching experience includes serving as the K-West Soccer Specialty Head at Kanakuk Kamps in 2015 and as the Varsity Head Coach at Central Florida Christian Academy from 2021–2022.

Now at VHSC, Coach Matt is committed to helping players grow both on and off the field, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and a passion for the game. His experience and dedication make him a valuable asset to the club’s Academy program.
